The Truth About Getting
Paid For Your Opinion

A behind-the-scenes look
at the paid survey business

By Barry Marx, Former Fraud Investigator

The Dream:
If a friend asked you about what you think about your favorite restaurant, you'd be glad to speak your mind wouldn't you?

And your opinions are incredibly valuable to companies selling everything from movies to vacuum cleaners and even new movies about to be released.

Think about it... these companies would gladly pay you $25.00 if your opinion can make a difference.

Example #1:
Here's an example... a company that sells an ebook detaling a scientific strategy to beat the casino at Roulette surveyed a group of Roulette gamblers... to their astonishment, most didn't want an ebook about gambling formulas and systems... instead, they found most wanted an ebook on how to become luckier!

By paying people $25.00 to fill out an 8-minute survey, this ebook publisher uncovered a new angle to promote their ebook... and the survey takers walked about with fast and easy cash.

Example #2:
A supermarket surveyed it's customers who purchased diapers and found that 3 out of 5 buyers also bought flowers.  The next day, the manager displayed fresh-cut flowers next to the diapers... and yes, they sold more flowers almost instantly.

Example #3:
A publicity firm I know invited 50 book authors to fill out a pricing survey... it took less than 3 minutes to fill out (just 6 questions).  As a result, the owner found that his price was way too cheap... the results of the survey suggested that he could double or even triple his prices without resistance.

As you can see, you could literally make fast and easy money filling out short surveys. In fact, there are documented cases of people making as much as $4,600 in a single month! A little later I'll show you where to get a free report explaining how this was done.

So how do you make big money doing paid surveys?
The problem is finding large numbers of these paid survey companies is almost impossible to do on your own.

The good news is there are dozens of paid survey database companies that help match you with companies looking to pay you for your opinion. Important: paid survey database companies do not send paid surveys. What they do is give you access to a large database of reputable firms you can contact to receive paid surveys for free.

Important! You generally only need to join one paid survey database company. To help you find the best ones, we've compiled an updated list of 24 paid survey database companies ranked by 28 independent review firms:

The numbers below show how many times a company was Ranked #1, #2, #3, etc. For example, SurveyScout was ranked #1 by 16 of the 25 review firms and #2 by 12 of the 25 review firms.

As you can easily see, 20 out of the 24 paid survey database companies don't rank well.

These 4 paid survey database companies rank the best:

SurveyScout is clearly the favorite.

So I contacted SurveyScout and convinced them to give me some insider tips on how to earn the most money as a paid survey worker.

Here are 6 tips they gave for making the most money with paid surveys:

Tip #1:
You need to stay with it for a couple months to increase your chances of being picked for the higher paying surveys. Once you have established yourself as a reliable survey worker you have a better chance of getting picked for higher dollar surveys.

To understand the importance of sticking with it, I encourage your readers to read our interview with Deborah Casey who averages $2,600/month doing paid surveys. In fact her best month so far has been $4,600!

Tip #2:
We highly recommend setting up a separate email address to be used for everything related to your new survey "business." And be sure to check it often!

This way your survey-related email won't be mixed up with your "regular" email, you won't miss any important survey opportunities, and everything will just be a lot easier for you. We have information on where our members can get additional email addresses for free.

Tip #3:
Get good at finding registration pages quickly. The faster you can find registration pages and fill them out, the more paid survey companies you'll be signed up.

Tip #4:
Use the free software program we recommend to automate filling out forms. By following our direct links to registration pages and using this free software you can get signed up for a lot of paid survey companies very quickly. This is how you maximize your money!

Tip #5:
Make sure you qualify for a survey company before joining with them. Sometimes survey companies are only looking for applicants from certain states or countries. At SurveyScout, we help our members by clearly showing if a company only accepts applicants from certain countries or states.

Tip #6:
Make sure you pick a paid survey database company that identifies whether you be be paid cash for your opinions. Many paid database companies don't tell you up front if the companies you're registering for pay cash or just pay in prizes. This can be a huge waste of time. At SurveyScout we clearly identify if a company pays you in cash, cash and prizes, or prizes only.

We also show you which of the following types of opinions you'll be giving:

  • Discussion Groups
  • Focus Groups
  • Mall Intercepts
  • Mail Surveys
  • Mystery Shopping
  • One on one interviews
  • On-line surveys
  • Phone Surveys
  • Product Testing
  • Taste Tests

You may find that there are certain types of surveys you like doing better than others. We help you make sure you do the type of paid survey work you actually LIKE to do.
